Please  see attached bulletin from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) regarding ‘The Power of Hello” in first line (Greeter etc) observation of people coming onto our campus.

Be observant of behaviors listed below and report to security team.

  1. persons lingering at their vehicle for no apparent reason
  2. car idling for no reason
  3. persons trying to go unnoticed
  4. persons repeatedly walking in and out of service
  5. person avoiding eye contact with you or not replying to your greeting
  6. persons looking for cameras or nervously looking at windows and doors
  7. clothing not appropriate to the season or to our norms
  8. persons wearing military style clothing or tactical gear
  9. person carrying anything unusual for the location, ex backpacks as this is not school,
  10. any suspicious activity, language, or body movements indicating armed intruder (touching a hidden firearm at waist or hips, positioning self to hide a hidden firearm, bulges in clothing indicative of a weapon, etc)

Look people in the eye and greet them with a smile or hello, especially any suspicious persons if a situation escalates to the point of calling 911 for an escort off campus, a statement must be written for police to include observed behaviors, words said, attempts to calm the situation, and persons reaction
