Pre-Rehearsal:

  1. Dress attire for:
    1. Men - Nice shirt, long pants, close toed shoes.
    2. Women - Shirt that is at the neck line, pants/skirt that is below the knees, shoes

We DO NOT want to be a distraction to people and need to put our best foot forward

  1. In your Planning Center app, make sure you do your vocal warmups prior to rehearsal start

  2. Arrive by 8:00am

  3. Bring your own in ear monitors. If you dont have any, we have a very limited few pair. You can always order your own if you would like:

  4. Learn/know the songs ahead of time. Even though we have a Confidence monitor for lyrics, sometimes technology doesnt work and we need to be ready for whatever

  5. Look at the tv on the wall to locate your mic and in ear assignment. Example:

  6. Grab your mic and in ear pack that matches your assignment

Rehearsal:

  1. Rehearsal starts right about 8:15a. For sound check and to get your in ears right for you, you will need to stand as if looking at the crowd mic 1 - 4 position on stage. Don’t worry, we will help you with this when you are here.
  2. Everyone is asked to sing a small section of song when the FOH Engineer (Front of house) ask you too. It can be one of the songs for the setlist that day in Planning Center OR you can sing whatever. We will need you to sing just like you will in service to get your in ears as well as the rest of the Worship/Band team(s) in ears.
  3. We will go around to each instrument and vocalist to not only line check to make sure we have a signal at the board, but also for your in ears. If you need:
    1. More of something, just give a thumbs up signal
    2. Less of something, just give a thumbs down signal
    3. Everything is good, just hold your thumb out sideways
  4. Once sound check for each instrument/vocalist is done, the MD (Music Director) is in control and will drive the rehearsal. Don’t worry, after song 1, we will pause to see if anyone needs any more or less of anything and then proceed to the remaining songs
  5. We will go through the flow of service with everyone so we are all on the same page
  6. For Rehearsal it is important that we all play/sing just like we would for service.  This not only helps our Front of House but also helps all our in ear mixes be right so that once service starts, we don't have to have too many adjustments. Not only does it help our sound team, but this also helps our Photography team.  We are trying to be less distractive during service and this team needs to capture as many moments as possible during rehearsal as well.
  7. There is blue spike tape at front of stage (Up stage) where we need to stand no farther than 1 foot back because lighting is programmed for us there.  During invitation, there are 4 spots on left and right side of stage with blue tape marked for us to stand.  Only mic 4 will have flexibility due to needing to talk to MD/Band by pushing down on the mic switch with Mic 4.
